There was no single moment where I decided to do this. It was slower than that — a quiet accumulation of messes I walked into and cleaned up, one organization at a time. It wasn't until I started looking back — really looking at where each business started and where it ended up under my watch — that I saw the throughline: I keep getting handed the chaos nobody else wants to touch.
And somewhere along the way, I stopped just tolerating that and started genuinely thriving in it. Give me sticky notes, spreadsheets held together with hope, and a team that's never heard of an automation — and I'm not overwhelmed. I'm interested.
The Proof
If you want the clearest example of how I work, ask me about Bienvenu Counseling. I walked into a practice running entirely on paper, sat down with counselors who'd tell you themselves they were not "tech people," and taught them — patiently, one workflow at a time — not just how to use an EMR system, but how much easier their day-to-day could be.
By the time I left, I'd built a procedure manual so thorough that they never had to call me again. Not because they lost my number. Because they didn't need to. They were confident, capable, and ready to run it themselves.
That's the whole job, honestly. I'm not trying to make myself indispensable. I'm trying to make myself unnecessary — in the best possible way.
The Why
Being able to walk away from a business — Bienvenu, or any of the others — knowing I left it more organized, more streamlined, and more itself than when I found it is genuinely what I love about this work. Simplifying chaos. Teaching technology that actually makes people's jobs easier instead of adding one more system to hate. That's it. That's the whole engine.
I believe in constant, continuous improvement. I believe in embracing new methods instead of white-knuckling the old ones. And I believe that without change, there's no growth — and that there's real beauty in simplicity.
Always Learning
I'm a little obsessed with how much free and low-cost learning is available if you actually go look for it, and I use it constantly — not for the sake of collecting certifications, but because "what can I learn today that helps my client tomorrow" is a genuinely fun question to ask myself.
(That said — yes, I do collect the certifications too. Old dog, extremely enthusiastic about new tricks.)
Ask anyone I've worked with and you'll hear a version of the same sentence: she gets things done, and she gets them done well.
Home Base
Which, if you know, you know: the food alone is reason enough to stay put. But I'll happily get on a plane for the right project — especially if that plane is headed to Bora Bora 🌴 or Ireland ☘️. I'm flexible like that.
